Easter Egg Hunting With Tyler & Daisy

Today was our annual Easter egg hunt at Commerce Church of the Nazarene. However, this year we got a sweet movie first! I think that was new... maybe I just don't remember it from last year. Tyler and Daisy were a little bored with it I think, but they were amped for the egg hunt! I mean who wouldn't be... It's free candy!

T & D with the Easter bunny
(The first time EVER that they have willingly taken a picture with a character)

Waiting with Aunt Kayla to start the hunt :)
Daisy showing off her wiggly tooth, making her mom gag. haha
Tyler looking for "Special" eggs.
Daisy getting all the eggs by the parking lot. I'm sure she was watching for cars, like all good 5 year old's do ;)

They were literally running in circles picking up eggs.
Daisy found the special egg hidden outside of the pink lines. GO DAISY!
Doing a final perimeter check, making sure they got every last egg.
Showing off her loot.
Look at all that candy they got!

I cannot even begin to to tell you how proud of these 2 I am! They normally just kinda scoot along and don't pick up many eggs. Are super scared to go by the Easter bunny and just kinda act like the shy kid in the corner. But this year... They really ran circles around the other kids their age. They got some serious candy, which us adults were munching on. Shhhhhhh... don't tell the twins!

All in all it was a very good day and it makes me more excited for future holidays with these 2 crazy kids!

I swear God is testing me...

Whichever of my parents thought it was cute to pray that I learn patience is really on my Spit List!!! Seriously today was the worst ever, and it was always while I was driving!

I guess I should preface it with the reasoning why I am so stressed and lacking patience lately. I have put together a project I titled "30 meals for 30 families in 30 days" and I'm doing it though my church. It's not your run-of-the-mill help out those in need charity project either! I basically want to celebrate families for the things they do in our church and  build a little fellowship in our church community.

It really all started for a selfish reason... I want to learn to cook more than mac & cheese! So, through my thoughts and with the help of my awesome Mom (before she was possibly on the Spit List) it has turned into something so much bigger! I'm really excited to see it all come to fruition! It's going to be a crazy 30 days but I'm ready for it!

Ok, so back to my angry-at-my-parents rant. Everywhere I have gone today, I have been stuck behind slow drivers, hit every red light and even encountered a palm tree. In Michigan! I know, I know... pics or it didn't happen.

Here I am stuck at the millionth red light of my day.

Oh wait, going 40 in a 50... Yea my fave thing ever!

And I mentioned the palm tree right?? You can see why I quickly got over. (Don't worry, I was at another red light when I took this picture!)

I'm really hoping this doesn't last long because I don't know how long I can keep my road rage in check! haha

I should have bought a Mega Millions ticket!

They say you are 176 times more likely to get struck by lightning than win the lotto...

Well guess what happened at work today???

Oh ya know... we got struck by lightning!!!!!!

Seriously the scariest thing every! My heart was beating out of my chest!

I was just getting up from my station at work and there is the loudest boom ever! Literally the sound went "boom" ;) and as I'm looking over to my right I see my uncle ducking and backing away from his press (machine we use at work) and holding his chest. My first reaction is the boom gave him a heart attack or one of the rods on his press blew and hit him in the chest. Then I saw the sparks fly out from the circuit breaker at the ceiling. All of the lights in the front half of our building were flashing on and off but oddly, the back of the building looked like nothing happened. Smelled a little charred but no visible damage, and thankfully no one was hurt.

Since I was clearly NOT expecting our building to get hit, I wasn't camera phone ready to catch it on tape. But I did take a few after shots.

One of the dudes I work with is in the fire academy so he got all suited & booted and helped out his fellow basement savers.

All in all, it was a super scary situation, but I don't think any major damage was done, AND we got to leave work early! There was a blown circuit on the power pole outside our building but DTE is gonna fix that right up! Back to work as usual bright and early Monday morning :)

Oh Peeta... How I Love Thee

I seriously cannot get enough of all this hunger games stuff people are making! I find them absolutely hysterical!

(BTW I loved the movie, and the book. I think it was by far the best movie adaption from a book I've seen. Sure they missed a few things BUT you can't have EVERY detail in a movie. There just isn't enough time! :))

Ok now onto my funnies I found.

Both Peeta related, because Peeta is awesome!

And my favorite so far!

Seriously.... Where do people come up with this stuff! So creative!

More Hunger Games related stuff to come :)

Cell Phone Nostalgia - 9/9/11

I often like to look back through all the pictures I have taken with my phone and I always wonder "why did I never post these?"

They're normally of my niece & nephew or just silly things I find. Just randomness at its finest.

So I decided here was the perfect place to post all of my random pictures off of my phone.

Here's the first pictures I took on my new phone... Ya know when you play with all the crazy camera effects just to see what it does... Haha

Enjoy.

You've got the weird focal zoom:

The front camera shot:

Shots by Daisy:

The weird polka-dotty filter:

And Kayla being a weirdo...

I am definitely going to be posting more... I mean I've got 6 months of pictures to catch up on for cryin' out loud!! haha

Until next time blogworld... Goodnight!

Day One.

So I "created" this blog about 2 weeks ago, and I have not brought myself to post. It really is a subconscious thing, because I have had... let's say a few blogs before this. I go into it with every intention of writing everyday, coming up with contests, guest posts, all kinds of crazy stuff. I always fall through on that.

Me = Sad Panda.

I've got a few tricks up my sleeve and I'm really hoping that this blog goes the distance. I mean how could I not keep The Broke Chic Diaries going! It's my life! Not like I have to come up with something to talk about everyday.

So sit tight and I promise I will give it my all!

Until tomorrow blogworld. I bid you Adieu. :)
